Responsibilities and Duties:
Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):
Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):
- Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
- Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments.
- Assists client with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Performs housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathroom
- Help clients with mobility and transportation to appointments or activities
- Document and report any changes in the client's condition to the care team
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is required.
- Experience working with clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is preferred.
- Experience assisting with client transfers using a Hoyer lift and/or gait belt is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to speak Hindi, Polish, Russian, or Ukrainian is required; however, candidates must also be able to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively, as required for the position.
